Page Checketts, Board Chair

I am passionate about creating and maintaining healthy communities. I believe healthy communities require constant effort at many intersectional points. My professional background is in healthcare, graduating from BYU in Nursing and working at Utah Valley Regional Medical Center in medical oncology before moving to the Bay area where I shifted to liver and kidney transplants. After raising nine children, and moving back to the mountains and red rock our family loves, I went back to the University of Utah for master’s degrees in public health and public policy. I learned that creating healthier communities begins with the beliefs and choices of individuals. Our environment plays a key role in supporting healthy people. I choose to spend my time in places where individuals are being inspired to, educated on, and supported in creating healthy and safe places for all people, which is why I love the mission at MESA.
